GREATER HOUSTON STAMP SHOW SEPT 17-19

Our friend Jay Stotts sends notice that the Greater Houston Stamp Show is scheduled for Sept 17-19. The show will be held at the Humble Civic Center in Humble, TX. The GHSS was cancelled in 2020, but Stotts vows "we intend to do everything within reason to safely stage a show in 2021 ...". The 3-day show plans to host 30 dealers, award hourly door prizes, and provide 1200 pages of exhibiting material. BROWN is the color for this year's Special Single Frame Exhibit Color Competition.

GULFPORT STAMP SHOW SET FOR APR 16-17

The Gulf Coast Stamp Club has plans to proceed with their annual GULFPEX show for 2021. The show will take place at the St. Martin Community Center, 15004 Lemoyne Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39532. It is expected that local COVID-19 requirements will be in effect. MCSC member John Barrett is on the Board of the Gulf Coast Stamp Club.

GIVING A CLUB PRESENTATION CAN BE GOOD FOR YOUR COLLECTION

Way back when, pre-COVID, Granbury member Dave Stockbridge gave a club presentation on Austria's Kristkindl Covers. A year or so later, one of the members in attendance at that meeting came across 8-10 items of Kristkindl material. The material was offered to Dave and is now a part of his collection. So consider giving a club presentation - you might just find a new source of material.

NEW ORLEANS STAMP SHOW CANCELLED

Word from Eric White, coordinator of the New Orleans Stamp Show 2021, scheduled for Feb. 26-27 in Kenner, LA, is that the show has been cancelled. According to Eric, cancellation is due to the very slow vaccine rollout and the public inability to follow health warnings and guidelines. He leaves open the possibility of having the show at a later date.

TSDA LANDS NEW RICHARDSON SITE

The Texas Stamp Dealers Association (TSDA) has a new show site for the 2021 season. TSDA shows were previously held at the Richardson Civic Center. Effective 2021 the City of Richardson has closed the Civic Center facility to the public. It is anticipated that the Center will eventually be converted into office space for City employees.

TSDA Richardson Bourse Manager Tom Cunningham informs us that all 2021 shows will be held at the Double Tree Hotel (Bluebonnet Room), 1981 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080. This location is at the southwest corner of US 75 and Campbell Road; take Exit 26 from either direction. Show hours are the same as last year (Friday; 10-5, Saturday 9-4).

Official 2021 show dates are as follows: April 9-10, June 25-26, August 27-28, December 10-11.
